Root Canal Treatment
|
|
A root canal is the space within the root of a tooth. It is part of a naturally
occurring space within a tooth that consists of the pulp chamber (within the coronal
part of the tooth), the main canal(s), and more intricate anatomical branches that
may connect the root canals to each other or to the surface of the root.
The smaller branches, referred to as accessory canals are most frequently found
near the root end (apex) but may be encountered anywhere along the root length.
There may be one or two main canals within each root. Some teeth have more variable
internal anatomy than others. This space is filled with a highly vascularized, loose
connective tissue, the dental pulp.
The dental pulp is the tissue which forms the dentin portion of the tooth. The formation
of secondary teeth (adult teeth) is completed by 1-2 years after eruption into the
mouth. Once the tooth has reached its final size and shape, the dental pulp's original
function ceases for all practical purposes. It takes on a secondary role as a sensory
organ.

Smile Designing
|
|
A smile is something that bridges the large gap between any two individuals. In
fact a pretty smile can disarm the strongest of opponents in any argument. Of all
the components of a smile, the teeth play a very important role in creating a perfect
effect. It is not just necessary to have good perfect teeth, it is necessary for
the teeth to be in harmony with the face, the lip line, the curvature of the mouth,
etc.. The same size and shape of teeth in one smile would look very aesthetic, while
in another, they would not. Dentistry today, has made extensive advances in material
sciences to be able to alter, reorganize and reposition teeth. Tooth structure can
be today added, reduced, moved, altered in terms of color and texture without any
deleterious effects and make it look, feel and behave in the same fashion as natural
teeth. In fact, in certain situations, the worked on teeth may be able to take on
stronger forces than natural teeth.
Nature gives the human body a set of 32 teeth of which there are 28 important working
teeth. The four third molars, more commonly known as the wisdom teeth can be discounted.
When individuals smile, the teeth most standardly seen in what is known as the bSmile
Windowb These are the anterior teeth, which could mean the front six to ten teeth.
These comprise of one pair of central incisors, lateral incisors, canines and two
pairs of premolars. When an individual smiles, this smile window will display these
teeth with the upper teeth generally covering about 2/3rd of the lower teeth. Smiles
are appealing and aesthetic when certain broad principles are fulfilled. The teeth
have to be in the right proportion, they have to be correctly aligned, they have
to be of the right shape, the right color and in harmony with the rest of the face.

Denture Work
|
|
Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into
your mouth. While dentures take some getting used to, and will never feel exactly
the same as one's natural teeth, today's dentures are natural looking and more comfortable
than ever.
There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. we will help you choose
the type of denture that's best for you based on whether some or all of your teeth
are going to be replaced and the cost involved.
How do Dentures Work?
With full dentures, a flesh-colored acrylic base fits over your gums. The base of
the upper denture covers the palate (the roof of your mouth), while that of the
lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue.
Dentures are custom-made in a dental laboratory from impressions taken of your mouth.
We will determine which of the three types of dentures are best for you.

Full Mouth Bridge
|
|
An option where only 6-8 teeth present in upper as well as lower arch can be given
full mouth bridge in case of edentulous(teeth less) patient, instent of denture,
the placement of implants in upper&lover arch helps to make a full mouth bridge.

Wisdom Tooth Surgery
|
|
By the age of eighteen, the average adult has 32 teeth; 16 teeth on the top and
16 teeth on the bottom. Each tooth in the mouth has a specific name and function.
The teeth in the front of the mouth (incisors, canine and bicuspid teeth) are ideal
for grasping and biting food into smaller pieces. The back teeth or molar teeth
are used to grind food up into a consistency suitable for swallowing. The average
mouth is made to hold only 28 teeth. It can be painful when 32 teeth try to fit
in a mouth that holds only 28 teeth. These four other teeth are your Third Molars,
also known as "wisdom teeth."
Why Should I Remove My Wisdom Teeth?
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. When they align properly
and gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately,
this does not generally happen. The extraction of wisdom teeth is necessary when
they are prevented from properly erupting within the mouth.

Ortho Treatment
|
|
Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth, to improve the
appearance of the teeth and how they work. It can also help to look after the long-term
health of the teeth, gums and jaw joints, by spreading the biting pressure over
all the teeth.
Many people have crowded or crooked teeth. Orthodontic treatment will straighten
the teeth or move them into a better position. This can not only improve their appearance
but also the way the teeth bite together, while also making them easier to clean.
In some patients the upper front teeth can stick out and look unsightly. These bprominentb
teeth are more likely to be damaged, but orthodontic treatment can move them back
into line. In others, the way the upper and lower jaws meet can cause teeth to look
unsightly and lead to an incorrect bite. Orthodontic treatment may be able to correct
both.
When the teeth donbt meet correctly, this can put strain on the muscles of the
jaw, causing jaw and joint problems and in some cases headaches. Orthodontic treatment
can help you to bite more evenly and reduce the strain.

Bleaching
|
|
Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general
dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. A child's deciduous
teeth are generally whiter than the adult teeth that follow. As a person ages the
adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth,
as the enamel becomes less porous. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments,
foodstuffs and tobacco. Certain antibiotic medications (like tetracycline) can also
lead to teeth stains or a reduction in the brilliance of the enamel.
There are many methods to whiten teeth: bleaching strips, bleaching pen, bleaching
gel, laser bleaching, and natural bleaching. Traditionally, at-home whitening is
done with bleaching gel which is applied to the teeth using thin guard trays. At-home
whitening can also be done by applying small strips that go over the front teeth.
Oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide are used to lighten
the shade of the tooth. The oxidizing agent penetrates the porosities in the rod-like
crystal structure of enamel and oxidizes interprismatic stain deposits; over a period
of time, the dentin layer, lying underneath the enamel, is also bleached. Laser
bleaching uses light energy to accelerate the process of bleaching in a dental office.
The effects of bleaching can last for several months, but may vary depending on
the lifestyle of the patient. Factors which will decrease whitening include smoking
and the ingestion of dark colored liquids like coffee, tea and red wine.
Internal staining of dentin can discolor the teeth from inside out. Internal bleaching
can remedy this. If heavy staining or tetracycline damage is present on a patient's
teeth, and whitening is ineffective, there are other methods of whitening teeth.
Bonding, when a thin coating of composite material is applied to the front of a
person's teeth and then cured with a blue light can be performed to mask the staining.
A veneer can also mask tooth discoloration.

Gum Surgery
|
|
Your gum tissue is like a frame that provides form and shape to the top of your
tooth. A less than attractive smile results when the integrity of the gum is compromised
or the actual gum between your teeth becomes weak. Usually due to poor hygiene (gum
disease), you actually begin to lose gum tissue. Cosmetic dentistry provides many
cosmetic solutions such as composite resin bonding, crowns, and veneers to create
a great smile. These solutions are usually part of an overall strategy which may
involve cosmetic gum surgery. Used to correct a 'gummy smile' (a significant portion
of your gum is exposed when you smile), cosmetic gum surgery is the procedure of
lengthening your teeth from the neck of the tooth upwards. Your teeth then appear
to be longer and much less gum is seen when you smile.
The "Long in the Tooth" Smile - Cosmetic gum surgery, or periodontal plastic surgery,
can correct almost any deformity or gingival problems preventing you from a beautiful
smile. As we age, our gums may shrink and recede which makes our teeth look longer.
While this is often age-related, it can also occur due to a bad bite. A cosmetic
dentist or a periodontist can correct this to such an extent, that you'll have a
very youthful appearing smile.
The "Gummy Smile" - This is a problem where your teeth appear to be too short. Gum
sculpting is often the solution. To solve this, a dentist uses a laser to remove
the excess tissue of your "gummy" smile, which then exposes more of your tooth.

Bone Graphting
|
|
Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that replaces missing bone with material from
the patient's own body, an artificial, synthetic, or natural substitute. Bone grafting
is used to repair bone fractures that are extremely complex, pose a significant
health risk to the patient, or fail to heal properly.
Bone grafting is possible because bone tissue, unlike most other tissues, has the
ability to regenerate completely if provided the space into which to grow. As native
bone grows, it will generally replace the graft material completely, resulting in
a fully integrated region of new bone. The biologic mechanisms that provide a rationale
for bone grafting are osteoconduction, osteoinduction and osteogenesis. The chart
at right reveals which of these properties apply to the different types of bone
graft material.

Computerised Xray[RVG]
|
|
Modern computerized X-ray devices are necessary for making correct diagnosis in
all branches of dentistry.
The RVG-ui is a solid-state system for dental x-ray imaging combining a charge-coupled
device (CCD) of small pixel size (19.5 microns) with a caesium iodide (CsI) scintillator.
It features two sizes of sensor with receptive areas that approach the size of No.
1 and No. 2 periapical x-ray films. The spatial resolution of the RVG-ui exceeds
20 lp/mm, rivaling direct-exposure intra-oral x-ray film when the latter is optimally
exposed and processed. The recording latitude of the RVG-ui for clinically acceptable
images is 25:1, making exposure error unlikely. In features such as speed of image
acquisition, reduction in radiation dose, retrieval of data, and organization and
storage of images, the RVG-ui system surpasses traditional x-ray film. Furthermore,
it is possible to make accurate length measurements very quickly, and to apply an
artificial intelligence program to determine the probability of proximal dental
caries in enamel and dentin.

Dental Implant
|
|
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that a periodontist places into your
jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for
people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal
disease, an injury, or some other reason.
While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional
bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.
Dental implants are so natural-looking and feeling, you may forget you ever lost
a tooth. You know that your confidence about your teeth affects how you feel about
yourself, both personally and professionally. Perhaps you hide your smile because
of spaces from missing teeth. Maybe your dentures don't feel secure. Perhaps you
have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to
smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, there is good news! Dental
implants are teeth that can look and feel just like your own! Under proper conditions,
such as placement by a periodontist and diligent patient maintenance, implants can
last a lifetime. Long-term studies continue to show improving success rates for
implants
